The Arik Network: ANN
In memory of
Cre8, two years of work. Posted 10/9/2001
The Cre8 Corporation, a dream of 8 teenagers to become
a team, to build a project and to earn money.
Here are the major mild stones and events that dominated
our during the last 2.5 years:
9/7/1999 - A meeting at Ben Goldman's house of Seven
Plus, a temporary name to a new compony. 8 teenagers gathered at
Ben's house: Arik Liderman, Doron Ravid, Nir Koblenc, Yony Bresler
and Roy Ofer - former ANLY members who decided that time has come
to end the games and the non profitable work and try to earn money.
Eyal Frank, Amir Buksboum and Ben Goldman - new comers,
Arik asked Eyal to join, Eyal brought Amir and Ben joined after
he heard what we were planing to do.
The 8 members, some close friends, some meeting for
the first time make a decision which will change their lives. After
a 8-0 vote, The Cre8 Corporation is formed.
11/7/1999 - The first Cre8 meeting is being held,
alot of expectations and time to set up Cre8's plans for the future.
The first elections are being held to decide who will be Cre8's
CEO. The CEO will orgenize everything, and will make sure that Cre8
will achieve it's goals and that progress is being made all the
time. Ben Goldman and Arik Liderman run for the job. Ben is elected
after a 5-3 vote. Ben Goldman becomes the first Cre8 CEO. During
the same meeting Cre8 decides to build a website for the internet
- a website which will teach people how to build their own websites
and earn money - step by step.
25/7/1999 - The first website is almost complete but
later Cre8 votes to change the design - and re-design a new look.
20/8/1999 - After one month of hard work, alot of
frustrations and effort, Ben Goldman stops coming to Cre8 meetings.
Arik saves the day and replaces Ben as CEO and acts as a temporary
CEO. Later, Cre8 members comfront Ben Goldman and decide that Ben
will leave Cre8. The second Cre8 elections are being held, one candidate
- Arik Liderman is elected with total majority (7-0).
Winter of 1999-2001 - Cre8 completes it's first website
after 2 hell nights (work all night long). Later Cre8 decides that
it will not upload the new website because at the same time alot
of new websites with the same content went on-line. Cre8 decides
to build a new website - an internet magazine. Eyal Frank proposes
a new project - Beta Team but work on it never begins.
Spring 2000 - Cre8 continues to work on the website
and changes it's perpuse again. The website will now be a Internet
magazine which will report about different subjects including site
building. The first Project-Cube begins. A meeting between Cre8
and a major Start-up compony P-CUBE. The meeting ends with no results.
Summer 2000 - alot of hard work is being put into
the new website and it's almost completed. Third Cre8 elections
are being held, Arik Liderman, Yony Bresler and Amir Bukboum run
for the job. Arik is being re-elected once again after a year of
being a CEO.
Fall 2000 - Yony Bresler leaves Israel and moves to
Canada. A shock to everyone. Yony was a close friend of everyone
and an important Cre8 member. After a long debate and threats of
Arik to leave Cre8, Yony remains a full Cre8 member and becomes
Cre8's ambasador to Canada. Ben Menahem joins Cre8 after Yony leaves.
An important addition to Cre8. Cre8 uploades it's new website to
the net and tests it for 3 weeks. 7 articles are uploaded, the test
period ends and Cre8 decides once again to cancel it's website.
After a hot Cre8 meeting - alot of shouts and long dibate Arik loses
the vote and the website is canceled. The reason for the cancelation
is lack of time.
Winter - Spring 2000 - 2001 - Cre8 decides to build
a new website with a new idea - a magazine in which the surfers
decide the content of the site each week. Arik gives an ultimatum
of three weeks after no serious effort is being made. After waiting
for 3 weeks Arik decides to resign from the post of CEO after 1.5
years in office. Nir Koblenc and Amir Buksboum run for CEO. Nir
is elected and becomes Cre8's CEO. Eyal Frank proposes a new Project-Cube
- Kenes Nalan. Cre8 is stuck for over a month with no progress and
no Cre8 meetings. Nir decided that he cannot perform his duties
as CEO and resigns. New elections are being held. Arik returnes
and runs again for the job this time against Ben Menahem. After
a close battle Ben decides to quit from the race in the last second
and Arik is re-elected once again.
Summer 2001 - Cre8 works hard, alot of hours and finally
after two years of work completes and uploads a ready and working
website. Cre8 tests it's new website for two weeks and then begins
advertising it. During June and August more then 2500 people visit
the new website.
End of August 2001 - Ben Menahem leaves Cre8. Cre8
continues it's hard effort and increases the amount of articles.
The updates continue and people continue coming but with no results.
Although the website becomes popular no sponser requests to advertise.
September 2001 - School begins, the webiste is popular,
but gives no money. Cre8 members work daily on the website and spend
alot of hours - the school time makes work impossible. Eyal Frank
and Amir Buksboum decide to leave Cre8. Roy is also on the edge.
Arik tryes to save Cre8 and succesfuly convinces Eyal and Amir to
stay. Arik proposes a new plan to save the website - a plan which
will require alot of hours of hard work. Most of Cre8 members don't
agree to the plan and Arik gives up and decides that time has come
to end Cre8.
September 8th 2001 - Cre8's last meeting begins. After
a debate everyone agree to end Cre8. A vote is being held and everyone
vote to end Cre8.
September 10th 2001 - Cre8's orders officialy begin
- Cre8 comes to an end.
----
Cre8's perpuse was to take a group of young people,
to make them a team, to build a project and try to make it succesful.
Cre8's original plan was to try until early summer
2002 and then to close Cre8.
Cre8 tried earlier - summer 2001 and thus fulfiled
it's perpuse.
Cre8 didn't earn money but it united a group of 8
young people and made them the closest friends. Cre8 members also
developed unique working tactics and everyone learned alot during
these 2.5 years.
Cre8 was our first attempt to become succesful. It
was a good practise with alot of enjoyable moments.
One thing is certian today: noone will ever forget
Cre8, it's achievments will help each and every one of us in the
future.
