The Arik Network: ANN
The
story of the biggest network ever constructed!
Our story begins in the hot summer days of 1997.
The race between Mabed
and DRedit reached it's pick as new versions were released every
couple of weeks.
Arik Liderman, the head of the Mabed Project and it's
creator searched constently for new ways to make Mabed better and
more popular.
An experimental step was taken: a creation of a website
for Arik which will include The Mabed Project.
In order to achieve this goal Arik begun to learn
the basics of website creation.
The next generation of website creation begun with
a first and simple website on a remote server.
Since that day Arik begun creating new, impruved websites
which ofered more and more information.
The first mildstone of the Arik Network was planted
in the early days of 1998 when the first major Arik website was
uploaded to the world wide web titled: Alik's homepage!
Alik's homepage! was a simple personal website which
included a downloadable Mabed98 version, a couple of good songs
and a small guide to how to build your own website.
Alik's homepage! continued to impruve over the month,
from a simple layot it took a more advanced form as more and more
small impruvments were added.
In middle of 1998 the second major website was launched:
finally The Mabed Project had it's own website titled: Mabed ON-LINE!
Arik now had two major websites on the net.
In late 1998 the third step was taken:
Another major website by Arik was created titled:
FreeWeb.
FreeWeb was a website created to help other people
in creating their own websites and earning money.
Also during the late days of 1998 three new small
websites were created by Arik: RoyWeiss
Home-Page , Weiss ON-LINE!
And Arik's first polical website: Ehud
Barak, the next Prime Minister of Israel.
In early 1999 Arik had 5 seperate websites, each recieving
it's own ammount of people.
As Arik continued to plan more and more new websites
he relized that he wount be able to take care of more then 5 different
websites, each in a different server, with a different address.
And so, after alot of hard work, uniting, repering
and creating a new design the Arik Network was established.
The Arik Network would serve as Arik's main website
and the base to all his personal projects. A source to his friends
to come and visit and be updated and a source to the whole world
for alot of useful tools and intresting news about life in Israel.
Two years have passed since the launching day of The
Arik Network.
From a small personal website The Arik Network developed
into a huge network of tools and news which continues to be updated
on a regular basis and brings new and exciting stuff almost every
day.
The Arik Network grows every day, and the work never
stops as Arik continues his quest.
Today, The Arik Network takes over 75MB of server
space and the work has only begun.
The Arik Network reflects and shows Arik's dreams
and goals and gives it's surfers a unique prespective into the daily
life tasks in the state of Israel.
